From Karen DiBari at National Forest Foundation:
Stewardship Agreements and Contracts: Important Tools for Accelerated Restoration
Tuesday, December 11, 2012
1:00-3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (please note the time zone)
The use of stewardship authorities by agencies and partners is continuing to grow. We invite you to join us for a discussion of the important stewardship tools available to agencies and partners in achieving on-the-ground results on federal lands. In this session, you can expect:
- An update on the status of stewardship tools and direction from the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management
- A basic “how to” for stewardship agreements and contracts, including the differences between types of agreements and contracts and things to consider in starting and implementing a stewardship project
- Highlights of recent improvements (most specifically, addressing fire liability in Forest Service stewardship agreements)
- The sharing of lessons by several community-based partner groups who have worked with agreements and contracts
There will be opportunity for questions and discussion, so please come ready to interact and participate.
To join the webinar, you’ll need a computer with Internet access and a telephone. Please take a moment to RSVP at THIS LINK. Once you are confirmed, you’ll receive a separate email with connection information.
This session is sponsored by U.S. Forest Service’s Forest Management staff, in partnership with the National Forest Foundation.
